SISPEC Warriors..
In the School of Infantry Specialists(SISPEC), alternatively known as Suffer In Silence Plus Extra Confinements, I was under the Basic Section Leader Course (BSLC) in Alpha Company, platoon 3 section 2 from June 13 to August 22, and then went to the Advanced Section Leader Course at SISPEC itself, but in Echo Company Platoon 1 Section 2.
My ASLC was probably the most meaningful time I had in the army, I made some of my closest friends, Mok Wen Kwang, Chee Wai Lun and Thomas Soh there. I miss the great eleven weeks we had as section mates, sitting on top of Point Kenwood in Taiwan mixing MILO and coffee with an insect repellent coated finger. But then we had to part ways, me, to become a BMT Instructor in Nee Soon Camp, Thomas was a regular, went to 1 SIR, Wai Lun became an instructor at Pulao Tekong Island and Mok, my buddy joined the Aggressors.
